How to Set a GIF as Profile Picture On Google Workplace (And How It Will Increase Your Email Open Rate)


I have kept a solid 50%+ open rate for my emails because of a sneaky little hack - my Google profile pic is actually a GIF.

How to Create and Download Your Google Profile Pic GIF in Canva

Step 1: Open this Canva template.

Step 2: Click Uploads

Step 3: Click "Images"

Step 4: Choose your image and click "add this photo to the canvas."

Step 5: Click and wiggle your image to have it take up the whole background.

Step 6: Click the second image background.

Step 7: Click "add this photo to the canvas"

Step 8: Click and wiggle your image to have it take up the whole background.

Step 9: Click the 1st image.

Step 10: Click "1.0s" and ensure it says 1.0s.

Step 11: Click the 2nd image.

Step 12: Click "1.0s" and ensure it says 1.0s.

Step 13: Click "Share"

Step 14: Click "Download"

Step 15: Click the file type.

Step 16: Click "GIF - Short clip, no sound"

Step 17: "Download"

How to Upload GIF to Your Google Workspace Admin Profile Account

Step 1: Navigate to https://admin.google.com/

Step 2: Click this text field.

Step 3: Type "Directory"

Step 4: Click "Directory"

Step 5: Click "Profile editing"

Step 6: Click the box next to "Profile Picture"

Step 7: Click "Save".

Step 8: Navigate to https://myaccount.google.com/

Step 9: Click this image.

Step 10: Click "Change".

Step 11: Click "From Computer".

Step 12: Click here.

Step 13: Click "Next"

Step 14: Click "Save as Profile Picture".

So your new GIF profile photo will look like this in someone's inbox -
